7 Year Old Stripped Of Bowling Championship Over Shade Of Pants

In what has to be one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard, a 7 year old boy from St. John’s has been disqualified after winning a bowling championship due to the shade of his pants.

Grayson Powell, 7, took part in a non-league tournament this past weekend and bowled a very impressive 171 leading his team of 3 to win the tournament. When it was all said and done, Grayson’s mother was pulled aside by Youth Bowl Canada provincial director Gordon Davis who informed her that due to the shade of her son’s pants, they did not meet the tournament’s dress code and that the team would be stripped of the championship and her son disqualified.

The dress code requires black pants, and as you can tell in the photo above that Grayson’s pants are a smokey grey.

Dress code aside, the fact that they let him participate only to ruin the end moment is what really has his parents up in arms over this. Why was he not informed of this while he was practicing, or at any point prior to the tournament beginning?

When CBC reporter Ryan Cooke asked Grayson on how he felt about the situation, his reply was, “sad.”
