The city is drafting a by-law to deal with flyer delivery in HRM.
Council approved an Environment Committee recommendation to draft new rules regarding the delivery service standards, where flyers van and can’t be delivered as well as requirements for distributors to not deliver to homes with ‘no flyer’ signs.
It was approved by council 5-1 with Councillor Matt Whitman as the sole councillor voting against it.
He’d like to see staff consider a mandatory ‘opt-in’ option.
How do you think flyer delivery in the municipality handled?
