Halifax Regional Police presented three Police Service Dogs with badges last week, honouring and fully recognizing them as invaluable members of our police service.
Chief Jean-Michel Blais says “the dogs in the K-9 Unit play an important time-saving and investigative role in searching for people and evidence and are truly an integral part of our policing family.”
“K-9 officers and their dogs have an incredible bond with a relationship based on immense trust. Not only are they dedicated workers, but they are also greatly valued and cared for by their handlers and appreciated by all members of HRP.”
In a news release thanks is given to each member of the K-9 Unit for their ongoing dedication and commitment to protecting and serving.
It also says a special thanks to the handlers for showing such care and pride for their dogs.
