-A man was seriously injured and two people in police custody after a stabbing yesterday afternoon.
Halifax Regional Police were called to Ahern Manor on Gottingen Street around 3:50 p.m. yesterday where they found a 37-year-old man with several stab wounds in an apartment. The victim was attacked by several people he knew and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Two people were arrested and the investigation ongoing.
-Jamie Baillie is stepping down as the leader of Nova Scotia’s Progressive Conservative Party and plans to exit politics altogether ahead of the next provincial election.
Baillie will remain as leader of the Official Opposition in the Nova Scotia Legislature until a new party head is selected.
Baillie said he wants to take another job after leaving politics, but expects to work as the MLA for Cumberland South until the next election is called.
