A 9-year-old non-verbal girl with cerebral palsy is being hailed a hero for saving her brother’s life.
Lexi Comeau-Jackson’s brother, 18-month-old Leeland, opened the door and went outside on his own while the family was getting ready to celebrate Lexi’s birthday party.
He then fell into the pool, which is when Lexie let out a loud scream.
Leeland was quickly taken out of the pool by his grandmother and is doing fine.
Councillor Tony Mancini heard about the story and met with the family.
Mancini took them on a tour of Halifax City Hall, where Lexie even got to sit in the mayor’s chair in council chambers.

Today I had the privilege to meet Lexie Comeau. Lexie notified her grandmother that her little brother Leland got out of the house and fell into the pool. Lexie’s quick actions saved her brother’s life. My friend Lexie is a true Hero. pic.twitter.com/vVjqU6aDRF
