Craig Neilson, a marathon runner, was enjoying a weekend getaway with his wife Amberly when he decided to go for an early morning run.
It seemed like a good idea at the time.
Wile running through Elk Island National Park in Alberta, he came across a plains bison grazing by a ditch.
He stopped to admire the animal, until it started to charge.
He turned to run, but slipped in some mud.
The bison caught him and gored him, in the butt.
It left a 2 inch deep, 3 inch wide wound on his behind.
The attack happened in May, but Craig says is still hurts to sit down.
He also said the attack wouldn’t stop him from running in the park, but his wife might not be too pleased.
