A large section of a storage warehouse collapsed at a distillery in Kentucky on Friday, sending thousands of whiskey barrels crashing to the ground.
The damaged warehouse held about 18,000 barrels, and the distillery’s owner estimates that up to half the barrels inside were affected. The distillery is near a waterway, and officials checked to determine if any whiskey had spilled into it. Initial water samples showed no signs of contamination.
The collapse won’t affect normal operations at the distillery. It is expected to resume normal business operations today, according to a statement from the company’s spokesperson.
