Ikea Canada is holding what they’re calling an “important media announcement” in Halifax tomorrow and it’s already got people pretty excited.
Some rumours suggest they’ll build a full store in Dartmouth crossing, while others say they may set up a “ship-to-store” style, where customers can have items shipped to the store for pickup.
One of the first IKEA stores to open in Canada was in Dartmouth crossing in the 80’s, and since it’s closure in ’87, people have been lobbying for its return.
The announcement begins at 10 AM on Friday.
A commuter has discovered a bed bug on a city transit bus.
Jason Johnson took a photo of the bug Monday on a Halifax Transit bus, then ran home and stripped down in the snow putting all of his clothes in bags out of fear that one of them had hitched a ride on his clothes.
One pest-control expert says he’s surprised it doesn’t happen more often. They can attach themselves on clothing, bags, and even books.
City spokeswoman Jennifer Stairs confirmed Halifax Transit was following up on a complaint of a bed bug on one of its buses. She said options could include fumigating the bus, adding that vehicles are cleaned at the end of every day.
