We are familiar with the great work that Chris Cornell has done in Soundgarden, Audioslave and Temple Of The Dog, along with his solo work, but there are some gems that were left to live performances that we were lucky enough to have people capture and upload.
I don’t think anyone could take two different songs of the same name and make them sound as amazing as Chris Cornell did when he mashed the music of U2’s “One” with the lyrics of Metallica’s “One”.
Chris Cornell covered the late great Prince’s “Nothing Compares 2 U”. What a beautiful rendition.
Chris channeled his inner Whitney Houston and rocked it. The best part has to have been one of the comments on YouTube “Chris Cornell could sing a song about shit, literal shit, and it would sound like he’s singing about diamonds.”
Taking on any Led Zeppelin song is a challenge. Chris Cornell made it seem easy.
One of the most touching videos I’ve seen was when Chris Cornell was joined on stage by his daughter Toni, and they covered “Redemption Song”.
Last night would be his final performance ever to a packed Detroit crowd along with Soundgarden. Here is footage from it when they played “Spoonman”.
